Seeing into the Mirror Darkly

There is a core misunderstanding among the people of this world, that we are somehow different…not from the Original Source of All Things. This is a huge error and one that is being highlighted…again…for us in these closing days before the end of 2016.

Make no mistake.

We are all being asked in a very profound way, to take a closer look at who we are…versus who we thought we were.

This is the Mirror Darkly.

This is originally a Bible passage: “For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I have been known.” [http://biblehub.com/erv/1_corinthians/13.htm]

Here’s that passage…in context of the theme of LOVE:

And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing.

Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil; rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part: but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I have been known. But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Strange, isn’t it? That a passage we know is about the true meaning of love has within it an undercurrent of how we can fail to love?

How can we know that we are failing to love…we know by examining what that looks like in the mirror. By looking closely at how our reflection is often clouded in self-doubt, self-protection and ignorance of who and what we project into the world and how that is projected back to us by the 3D reality we understand as the physical part of the world.

We are here in physical form to love one another. Simple…or is it? In one form or another, EVERY SINGLE religious text has some form of “Do Onto Others” as one of its principle precepts. So, why are more wars started and/or continued because of religion?

There is a core misunderstanding among the people of this world, that we are somehow different…not from the Original Source of All Things. This is a huge error and one that is being highlighted…again…for us in these closing days before the end of 2016.

We are all in the process of awakening to truths that have not been a secret at all. There are no secrets, just confusion and ignorance of these truths.

Look into your own mirror…darkly. See, maybe for the first time, your shadow self. Feel how that shadow hides that which you prefer not to be revealed…not even to yourself, and certainly not to those who you claim to love. Dare I say, unconditionally.

As long as we remain in this 3D world, we will have a shadow. But, that shadow can reveal itself to you…if you allow yourself to investigate those places within your own heart and soul that scare you. That which scares you drives the light away, and, it is only by allowing the light to illuminate your darkness that you will awaken to your ability to love even those things that you fear.

…”But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three, and the greatest of these is love.”

Kailley Quote: Universal Truth

Do not mistake that which you call truth for universal truth…

UniversalTruth-Kailley_sm-meme.png

As long as you divide the universe

into friendly and unfriendly,

good and evil,

light and dark,

this will be your truth.

Do not mistake that which you call truth

for universal truth,

though it’s likely there are parallels.

You cannot look into yourself and not see the soul of truth is in others.

It’s easy to look upon those peoples

and not see yourself.

You cannot look into yourself

and not see the soul of truth is in others.

You must look deep within yourself now and say,

I am at peace.

Know this as your truth.

No one is moved to lie to another without first having lied to himself… about himself. (7/25/14)

If the Truth we profess to love isn’t demonstrated by our actions moment-to-moment, day-by-day, then what those same actions demonstrate is the extent of hypocrisy in which we live. There is only one cure for this kind of spiritual self-delusion: The honesty to see ourselves as we are, followed by whatever personal sacrifice we must make to start “walking our talk.” (7/23/14)

We want to be free of negative states, but refuse to bear our share in carrying the weight of them, a necessary act of self-sacrifice that is the mandatory interim stage between being burdened by the false self… and being set free from it. (7/20/14)

There are times when the truest choice is not based upon what you’re feeling, but rather from what you are willing to see is true about your feelings. (7/18/14)

Revisiting Elena Undone

It’s funny that you can never predict which posts will garner the most hits…for one reason or another, that turns out to be “Love Wisdom from Elena Undone“.

It was a “little” film with an unconventional perspective on learning that one is really gay, or at least bisexual…and about love in general. One of those words of wisdom was about how unpredictable love can be…and how that love can come in very surprising packages.

I’d love to hear from my readers on whether you watched the actual movie (available streaming on Netflix) and if you did, what you thought of its underlying message about love.

On a personal note, I started out July doing so well…publishing new blogs or at least reblogging when I was lazy. Then I realized that I haven’t done either in over a week! I should add that I’ve started back to work and getting back into that grove has been interesting.

Promise: More blogs in August…personal truths and sharing! Thanks for “listening” to my raves and rants!

For Richer or Poorer

For richer or poorer, each of us has a duty, as human beings on this planet at this time, to be our “brother’s keeper”.

For richer or poorer, we must all take responsibility for not only our own actions, but those who we have elected to make decisions for us.

For richer or poorer, the contributions we make each and every day of our lives define who and what we are.

For richer or poorer, no one has knows how long we have to live, but it is our purpose here in this lifetime to find out what we are here to do and do it.

For richer or poorer, all commitments we make, written, verbal or implied, stand as testaments to our ability to live our personal truths.

For richer or poorer, stand up and be counted for what you believe; this is where you will make your greatest impacts.

Truth versus Fact (excerpt)

When metaphysicians and skeptics argue over these matters, many forms of evidence can be trotted out by the skeptic, which would seem to bolster his position. In terms of building an argument for and against, it is usually the “against” side which has the most “proof” to offer. The skeptic can usually claim victory and walk away no more enlightened than he was to start.

A balloon next to moon…they’re both “floating” in the air, right?

If you look in a dictionary, you will find many similarities in these two words—truth and fact. You might even be tempted to say they are synonymous, but you would be in error. A fact is a provable, repeatable and verifiable statement, which few people question. A truth is not so easily provable or even definable, and if it were even verifiable, there would be little reason for arguments over its conclusive validity.

Since the “burden of proof” is with the “for” side, the metaphysician wins few of these mundane arguments—truth vs. fact, is no different in this respect. The origins of metaphysics occurred a thousand years the pivot point of 0 A.D.—and the first big jump in human evolution. This was a time of much skepticism, but also when many of the most ancient texts were committed to written form—having been mostly an oral tradition prior to this. This was when Homer’s Odyssey was finally written down and the Greek schools of knowledge and philosophy took root.

Aristotle’s Metaphysics stands as the seminal work of non-fiction, launching generations to come on a path of studying reason for its own sake. Interesting then, is it not, that metaphysics has been sequestered by most people into the auspicious category of “new age.” New Age itself being an oxymoron—there’s nothing new about the information being advance in this age—in fact, it’s quite old.

What is new in this era is the relative willingness, acceptance and tolerance of the society contains validity, it stands a very good chance of being seen as fact. But, is it truth? And what, if any of it, is Universal Truth? Is there even such a thing? The short answer is no. the much longer answer is that nothing that cannot be validity and therefore “universally” agreed on, can be a part Universal Truth. There will be those who will build a convincing case which would be able to “prove” the “negative” that there are “in fact” Universal Truths. They will point to what are rather, Universal Laws. There are few of these that apply to all beings, in all forms, in all dimensions—one’s you can imagine, most you cannot. This is another discussion that we will save for another day…
