Seeing into the Mirror Darkly

There is a core misunderstanding among the people of this world, that we are somehow different…not from the Original Source of All Things. This is a huge error and one that is being highlighted…again…for us in these closing days before the end of 2016.

Make no mistake.

We are all being asked in a very profound way, to take a closer look at who we are…versus who we thought we were.

This is the Mirror Darkly.

This is originally a Bible passage: “For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I have been known.” [http://biblehub.com/erv/1_corinthians/13.htm]

Here’s that passage…in context of the theme of LOVE:

And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing.

Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil; rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part: but when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I have been known. But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Strange, isn’t it? That a passage we know is about the true meaning of love has within it an undercurrent of how we can fail to love?

How can we know that we are failing to love…we know by examining what that looks like in the mirror. By looking closely at how our reflection is often clouded in self-doubt, self-protection and ignorance of who and what we project into the world and how that is projected back to us by the 3D reality we understand as the physical part of the world.

We are here in physical form to love one another. Simple…or is it? In one form or another, EVERY SINGLE religious text has some form of “Do Onto Others” as one of its principle precepts. So, why are more wars started and/or continued because of religion?

There is a core misunderstanding among the people of this world, that we are somehow different…not from the Original Source of All Things. This is a huge error and one that is being highlighted…again…for us in these closing days before the end of 2016.

We are all in the process of awakening to truths that have not been a secret at all. There are no secrets, just confusion and ignorance of these truths.

Look into your own mirror…darkly. See, maybe for the first time, your shadow self. Feel how that shadow hides that which you prefer not to be revealed…not even to yourself, and certainly not to those who you claim to love. Dare I say, unconditionally.

As long as we remain in this 3D world, we will have a shadow. But, that shadow can reveal itself to you…if you allow yourself to investigate those places within your own heart and soul that scare you. That which scares you drives the light away, and, it is only by allowing the light to illuminate your darkness that you will awaken to your ability to love even those things that you fear.

…”But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three, and the greatest of these is love.”

It’s easy to look upon those peoples

and not see yourself.

You cannot look into yourself

and not see the soul of truth is in others.

You must look deep within yourself now and say,

I am at peace.

Know this as your truth.

Rise Up and Rejoice!

Easter is a celebration of life renewed. The great “I AM THAT I AM” is within us all; we are each the sons and daughters of the Universal Source of All Things.

Today is not just about one individual who died and rose again after three days, it’s about every one of use…if we so choose.

Easter is a celebration of life renewed. The great “I AM THAT I AM” is within us all; we are each the sons and daughters of the Universal Source of All Things.

No exceptions.

If we are all from ONE SOURCE…and we are…we must recognize the divinity in all of life’s myriad creations. To denounce one, you will minimize that which is all inclusive. This is in error, “sinful” and without merit. Love is everything. There are only two forces in the world of duality, love and not-love.

Choose love and only love. That is what today is all about. Have you risen from the tomb and been called forth into eternal life? If so, you will choose this each and every day.

Every day can be your Easter. Declare I AM THAT I Am to be ever present in your hear and mind and it will be so.

Blessings and prayers on this and every day!

Easter and The Lovers

Every day I get a new card drawn from the Tarot as part of an app on my phone; today’s card is The Lovers.

The Lovers, Key 6
The Lovers, Key 6

Traditionally, this card is seen as about the surface value of love and relationships, but that is only “skin deep”. It’s about delving into our ideas about love and loving, lovers and other loving relationships which enliven our existence. It’s about peering into our own hearts to make a decision that may be weighing heavily upon it or to question the desires that may be stirring there.

It is said that when we choose a path…or a door, we also choose to sacrifice that which we have not chosen. We are then asked to take responsibility for that choosing and celebrate all the passion, spiritual devotion and, yes, even ownership for loving oneself.

As we are in the midst of several religious and spiritual traditions, known as Easter, Passover (Pesach), and celebrations surrounding the Spring Equinox and May Day, this time of year is about the renewal of our spirit. We are asked to review our choices about many things, plant the seeds that we will nurture and look forward to the greening of the Earth.

The first step of any journey is one of choice; which direction to begin and our dedication to that path to the exclusion of other, maybe equally desirable choices. As you sit down to your meal today, whether it be one of special celebration of this holiday with family or by yourself, consider the choices that have lead you to this point. Everything that you do, say, thing and eat, are results of a long and complex chain of decisions made and executed. Take responsibility for the simple acts and accept that there will be challenges along the way.

Easter celebrates the resurrection and triumph over death, that which was sacrificed was not done in vain. There is a purpose, but only you can own that purpose and manifest it in your own life. That is where the magic happens; that is when you are utterly transformed by the suffering that may have seemed to be unbearable. To accept the ultimate sacrifice represented by the risen Lord is to understand the meaning in your own life.

Celebrate the love that is all-too-often beyond understanding, the love that resides within.

Be amazed.

Stand firm on the shifting sands of life.

Be at-one with everything in every moment.

Never let anyone else tell you what’s “good for you”.

Open your arms and your heart.

Place your trust in the Universe,

for you are always in the perfect place when you do.

Live Life in Love.

Intention of Loving Kindness — The Seventh Major Understanding | Jordan Gray, Author, Speaker

Intention of Loving Kindness:

I am as gentle and kind to myself as I am with others. As I practice loving kindness within, my ability to give and express love grows. I acknowledge that self-abuse is pointless and without merit. I recognize that feelings of guilt arise from my judgment.

My feelings of culpability exist to teach me who I am. I gracefully accept lessons attached to my sense of guilt, and I forgive myself completely. I forgive myself for imagined errors as I remember that all of my experiences are drawn to me for an exquisite purpose.  I release feelings of guilt through love and forgiveness. I intend to do my best, and doing my best is all I can do.

When I slip, I forgive myself and begin again. As I learn to forgive and love myself, I extend loving kindness to all.

The District – We Built This City

Daily Prompt: We Built This City

by Krista on March 9, 2014

What do you love most about the city / town / place that you live in? What do you like the least about it? If you were mayor, what would be the most important problem you’d tackle? How would you tackle it?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us CIVILIZATION.

Although DC is not my home town, nor do I live here…but I definitely spend a lot of time since I work here. “The District” as Washington, DC, calls itself, is a strange mixture between state and city…both and neither at the same time.

There’s a certain mentality that goes with it in this area, affectionately called Beltway Blindness. It refers to the myopic inability to see beyond the “beltway”…the Interstate that roughly loops  around the city, encircling the Capitol.

I know enough about this “town” to know that it’s not a small thing to fix…if I had to choose just one, I suppose it would be to make it a smaller government. But, like every other facet of government, big and small, that’s no easy thing either. There is a general confusion of what is DC…the District…and what is federal. The Capitol is IN DC, but they are separate and distinct entities that have their own ways of doing things.

Last year’s shut-down highlighted some of the most difficult parts of how the District is treated differently from any other “state”. It is not independent of the federal government and its finance and other parts of its governance are tied to decisions that are out of its hands.

That may be more than most of you wanted to know! Maybe I’ll expand upon the strangeness of the District still being part of Maryland…but I’ll save that for another time…
