Bury Me In Space.

Actually, I’m still hoping that I can get “up” there…still alive, but this would be second best, I guess!

There have only been 150 people buried in space so far.  Including James Doohan, who played Scotty in Star Trek, the creator of Star Trek Gene Roddenberry, space illustrator Charles Oren Bennett, astronomer Clyde Tombaugh, who discovered Pluto, and Timothy Leary, among others.

Celestis will send up to 1 gram of your ashes into orbit.

A new entrant into the space burial arena is Elysium Space.  The company has already launched a mobile app to track ashes in orbit, and hopes to launch its first memorial flight in 2014.

Technically, no one has been buried in space.  The ashes are put into a decaying orbit at the moment, but who knows.  With all the commercial space programs in progress not, you may be able to be buried on Mars, or shot into the Sun.  I want to be scattered amongst the stars.
